Add Up to 5 Bingo

Add Up To Five Bingo game

This is a very simple family of games. One reason it is good for children is that all children get to participate actively throughout the game. That is, even though children take turns rolling the die and announcing the number, all children get to place a marker on the number that is called at each turn. This family of games involves missing addends for sums from 4 through 12. It is a good alternative to drilling children on sums. Another challenge is for children to decenter from thinking only about horizontal and vertical rows, to consider the diagonal. Children have the opportunity to reason spatially when they have more than one of the same number on their board and they must decide which number is more likely to help them achieve 5 in a row.
