Infants and Toddlers Block Play: STEM in the Blocks Center

Block play offers opportunities for learning scientific concepts such as cause and effect, and mathematical concepts such as quantity, classification, and ordering.  Participants will learn how to support infant and toddler play with blocks, from selecting blocks and accessories and observing how the children use them, to how to comment and ask questions to support discovery.  Participants will learn how to set up the environment and to provide multiple opportunities for infants and toddlers to figure out how to modify the physical world works to make something interesting happen.

Workshop format:  face-to-face

Length of workshop:  3 hours
