Jill Uhlenberg is a former preschool teacher, campus-based child care program director, and is emerita faculty of the University of Northern Iowa, retiring after 27 years at UNI. She has served the state through developing and implementing best practice in early childhood classrooms and is past-president of the National Coalition for Campus Children's Centers. In addition, Uhlenberg served as Head of UNI's Department of Curriculum and Instruction for nine years. She is the author or co-author of two chapters within the book An Inquiry Model for Early Childhood: Ramps and Pathways published by Teachers College Press, and co-authored a chapter in Koba and Wojnowski's book, Exemplary Science: Best Practices in Professional Development. Uhlenberg is an Affiliate Faculty member of the Regents' Center for Early Developmental Education with a focus on professional development for early childhood teachers and carries out research and development around STEM activities for toddlers
